Greetings, Friends of Olympic College,
As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support of student access, achievement and success here at Olympic College. Your generosity and commitment to our shared community of students has made a profound impact. Together, we are building a brighter future for Kitsap and beyond, and we are so grateful for your partnership.
In November and the first part of December, we asked, and you answered! Thanks to you, the Food Pantry shelves have been well stocked, and OC students didn’t go hungry as they closed out Fall Quarter. Thank you for your generosity as we work together to combat food insecurity at Olympic College!
Drumroll, please, for additional exciting news – WE’VE MOVED! The OC Foundation office is now located on the third floor of Building 5, Room 300, on the Bremerton campus. To celebrate, we’re hosting a casual open house on January 13, 2024, from 12-2 p.m. We’d love for you to stop by, meet our team, tour our new space, and enjoy light refreshments. Mark your calendar! We can’t wait to see you there!
As we look to the year ahead, here are several of the exciting projects and priorities that our team is focused on.
- The 25/26 scholarship cycle opens at the end of January. We need your help reviewing the hundreds of scholarship applications we receive! Email Samantha to sign up as a scholarship review volunteer. It will only take a few hours in Spring 2025 and can be done from the comfort of your own home!
- We have started the behind-the-scenes and often slow work of strengthening relationships with our donors – providing updates to those with endowed and restricted funds. We know you haven’t heard from us in a while, and we are working to change that. If you would like a better understanding of what we’ve been up to and how your donations to OC Foundation have been used, email Kim to set up a time to talk or call (360) 475-7120.
- Our team is working on refining many of our systems to ensure we’re adhering to philanthropic best practices. This includes policy updates, creating standard operating procedures, better defining roles and responsibilities, and optimizing our use of philanthropic tools. This work is critical so we can be good partners to you, Olympic College and the students we serve.
