Help Olympic College students cross the Finish Line!
When students run out of financial aid a few credits short of graduation, they often give up on their dreams and the chance to find a living-wage job that will support their families. An average scholarship award of $650 is all it takes to help them earn a diploma.
Your gift during the Kitsap Great Give supports the Finish Line Scholarship Fund for students who are 15 credits or fewer away from graduating.
The clock was ticking for Tashiana, who was determined to earn an associate’s degree at Olympic College before her husband’s Navy transfer came through. But with only two quarters remaining until graduation, she ran into a problem with her funding. “I just wanted to have that achievement. It was so important to me,” she said. A Finish Line Scholarship from the Olympic College Foundation allowed Tashiana to earn her associate’s degree in June 2018. Now it’s smooth sailing. She has a job she loves as a preschool teacher and a goal of continuing her education to become a high school English teacher. “When I was searching for jobs, it helped a whole lot having a degree. A whole lot! I couldn’t have done it without Finish Line.”
